What began with a chance meeting more than six decades ago has evolved into one of the leading public accounting firms in West Texas. William H. Armstrong, CPA opened an office to practice public accounting in San Angelo, Texas in 1961 and was joined by Mason L. Backus, CPA in 1963 to form the partnership eventually known as Armstrong, Backus & Co., LLP. The Firm has experienced tremendous growth since 1961 to its present size of nine partners and over eighty-five employees. Over the years, the firm has adapted and added additional service areas and specialties to meet changing client and industry needs. What has not changed since 1961, are our principles of quality, integrity and dedication to client service.
